Dope releases video for “Lovesong” 10/04/2023!

Dope have announced that they are releasing a video for “Lovesong” tomorrow (10/04/2023). “Lovesong” is a track off the band’s latest album “Blood Money Part Zer0”. Originally performed by The Cure, Dope has given this classic a new twist by featuring Edsel’s second band Drama Club. Edsel also directed this video, which is a delight to see. You can view a tantalizing teaser for the video, where we see the band in Drama Club masks and a few pretty intense scenes of … don’t really know how to describe it? Two individuals in pretty awesome SFX makeup, that’s all I know. Very intriguing, indeed.

Looking to check out the video? This link will take you right to it: it’s set to premiere in 15 hours as of this writing. There’s an option to receive a notification when it does, so be sure to hit that bell so you don’t miss it!

Flashback Sunday: Dope on Tour!

For your Flashback Sunday, we’re still celebrating the upcoming Machine Killer tour! Today’s blast from the past is not -too- distant, as we look back to the Rise of the Machine tour. We got some killer performances on this tour, along with some amazing photos. Here’s one of my favourites from Dope’s official Facebook:

This is credit to Jesse Edgar Photography (per Dope’s Facebook). Please visit their website to support them!

I have to say, the photographers covering Dope lately have been on point. Insane amount of talent on display. It is always such a delight when we’re treated to new photos of the band, especially ones that are of this high quality.

If you aren’t following Dope on Facebook, why not do so today? And for those who haven’t gotten their tickets for the Machine Killer tour yet, click here to find out more! Judging by how wildly successful the Rise of the Machine tour was, this one’s going to sell out fast. I know I’ve got my tickets – I’ll be at the Atlanta show! If you can’t make it, don’t worry – I’m taking you with me! I’m coming back with photos and videos, so stay tuned.

Spotlight Song: I Am

VIEW SCREENCAPS // VIDEO CREDIT // LYRICS

Our first Spotlight is a song I’m rather attached to: I Am, from Dope’s 2003 release Group Therapy. For those not familiar with this song, I Am is the fuck you anthem you didn’t know you needed until now. You might recognize a blast from the past in this video: Mistress Juliya, aka Juliya Chernetsky makes an appearance. Quite the hot ticket in the early 00s, Juliya was basically everywhere on the metal scene back then. Couldn’t escape that girl.

Please enjoy the video, and as always if you like what you see why not subscribe to Dope’s official Youtube channel? You’ll have access to just about their entire catalogue there. They’re sitting at about 116K subs and even though that makes them eligible for a silver Creator Award, we all know we can do better than that. So get to it.

Flashback Sunday: Leafpile.tv Teaser

For your Flashback Sunday this week, we have an interview teaser featuring Edsel Dope on Leafpile.tv. Sadly the full interview seems to be lost, as the link provided takes you to a 404. Still, it’s a pretty interesting flashback and well worth watching!

Flashback Sunday: Metal Hammer Golden Gods 2014

VIEW SCREENCAPS

In this first ever Flashback Sunday, we’re going all the way back to 2014 and this very cheeky Golden Gods black carpet interview with Edsel and Nikk. There’s 61 caps from this interview in EDF Photo, so check ’em out when you get a chance.

A tiny update

Hello hello! I’ve been a bit busy so I’ve not been posting updates as much as I could be. But now my schedule has cleared up a lot, so expect a LOT more of me. My biggest news is I’m attending the Machine Killer Tour in Atlanta, so to say I’m hyped is a bit of an understatement. I’ve been a massive fan of both Static-X and Dope for years, so to see them live and on the same bill is a dream.

Back to Edsel, came across this blast from the past completely by accident. I was browsing Youtube and saw this panel discussion from 2010 featuring the man himself. It’s called “Turning Sport Music into a New Revenue Stream”. It’s an interesting piece for sure. I admit, I’ve personally not thought too much about the music featured at sports events so it was enlightening to hear about that side of things. Give it a watch!

All credit for this goes to MIDƐM+, I do not own this video. Please check out their channel if you’re interested in learning more about them!
