Dope Bus Invaders Screencaps, etc.

The LARGEST Edsel Dope photo gallery on the net just keeps getting better.  We’re coming at you with updates from classic spots with Dope: Bus Invaders and other segments from Digital Tour Bus. Let’s get right into it.

Dope: Bus Invaders
View Photos | View Video

  • 47 photos added to Dope: Bus Invaders. This is a segment that is still pretty popular, and with good reason!
  • Not familiar with Bus Invaders? Here’s a rundown: Do you remember MTV Cribs? Think of that, but with tour buses. If you liked MTV Cribs, you will probably like this channel. I for one am quite nosy and find this sort of content really interesting. I’m forever watching “what’s in my bag” videos, or house tours.
  • Edsel himself is the one giving the tour of their bus, and is accompanied by the man, the myth, the legend Acey Slade.

Dope: Tour Pranks
View Photos | View Video

  • 37 photos added to Dope: Tour Pranks!
  • ANOTHER video with both Edsel and Acey? Heck yeah! I’ll understand if you need a moment to compose yourself to get ready for all that awesome.
  • This is another video by the awesome Digital Tour Bus. Shockingly, this channel doesn’t have at least a million subs even though they really should. You know you can fix that, right? If you like what Digital Tour Bus creates, why not subscribe? You can check out their channel right here.

Dope: Tour Tips
View Photos | View Video

  • 42 photos added to Dope: Tour Tips.
  • The last in that series from Digital Tour Bus, we join Acey and Edsel one more time. Two rock legends, one video. Your day just keeps getting better. This is a very fun series, I really hope you watch all the videos!

Again, if you liked what you saw, please sub to Digital Tour Bus. They have a lot of cool people featured – the one on Wednesday 13 was also really interesting. Which video was your fave?

Dope Die MF Die GIFs, Site Updates and more!

Today’s update sees some shiny new bells and whistles on edseldopefan.org, some additions to the Graphic Archive (Dope Die MF Die Reunion gifs) and a new series hitting EDF.org’s social media. Let’s not waste any time and hop right into it.

dope die mf die

  • As you might be able to tell, we have polished up our look even more lately. I’m really happy for you to see it. I do all the graphics and site design myself, and hopefully my skills do Edsel justice.
  • EDF Photo also got a new-ish look. The site experience should now aesthetically be more cohesive throughout, which is my goal.

Graphic Archive Updates:

  • Five GIFs from the Now or Never video added. Though Lovesong unseated it from the top spot in my favourite Dope videos, it’s still sitting pretty at a solid second. As with all the GIFs I create, I do not show previews here like I do other graphics. (I too hate fansites that have a ton of gifs that need to load and make everything hella slow.) Simply head directly to the page here.
  • Two GIFs from the from the Die MF Die Reunion promo added.
  • I am working on more graphics content, since I know that’s a popular aspect of this fansite. Please note: all my graphics are free and always will be. The only thing I ask in return is not using them as the basis of your own work. And maybe a link back too, if you use and like them!

How It Starts

  • I know I don’t really talk about edseldopefan.org’s social media presence a lot on this site. There’s a reason for that. I want you to follow and sub to Edsel’s social media, not mine. It really is one of the best ways to support him and his music, so go do that now if you haven’t yet. Go on. I’ll wait.
  • Back? Good. I make short form content about Edsel once a week on our social media. Our Tiktok and Instagram will be hosting a new series to that end, How it Starts. Part music challenge, part hype for a supremely underrated band, it will look at Dope (and Edsel’s music as a whole) in a fresh new way.
  • I hope you join us for the series! On Tiktok and Insta, we are @edseldopefanorg. I will also be posting it here in case you don’t have either platform.

Dope The Early Years Booklet Scans

Today’s update sees EDF Photo updated with scans from the booklet that accompanied Dope: The Early Years. This is an addition to my own personal collection of Dope band memorabilia that I didn’t have until recently. (“What?! Cristina, you didn’t have this yet? Fake fan confirmed.”) I know, right? Scandal! But I’ve since righted that wrong. Let’s find out all about it right now!

Dope: The Early Years Booklet

  • 28 scans have been added from the Dope: The Early years booklet. To view the scans, click here! This booklet accompanied The Early Years: New York City 1997/1998, which was released July 31, 2018. Not familiar with this release? Let’s give you the scoop: The Early Years: New York City 1997/1998 is a compilation of Dope’s early demos. Before Dope was the powerhouse we know now, they were just finding their feet in the late 90s. Many of the tracks on this album went on to Dope’s debut release Felons and Revolutionaries.
  • The Early Years: New York City 1997/1998 also includes an awesome booklet where Edsel details Dope’s beginnings. If you’ve never read it, it’s genuinely an awesome read. When I tell you, the way I would absolutely devour a memoir written by this man… the pages of this book are filled with fascinating stories. (Edsel, if you ever happen to see this… memoir when?!)

I do want to add one more thing: I hope my content inspires you to support Edsel by purchasing his music. If I’ve piqued your interest, please buy this compilation! It really is something special for any Dope fan’s collection.

Dope tour news, gallery updates, and more!

Hello hello! I’ve gone a bit longer than I prefer without any updates, for that I do apologise. I’ve been working pretty steadily on the site, so I’m always around. Today’s update has Dope tour news, a gallery update and more! So without further ado, let’s hop right into it.

Dope on Tour

  • The THIRD leg of the Machine Killer Tour starts on the 26th of April. This jaunt across North America looks like it’s taking the tour across the PNW, Canada and the Midwest. Are you in or near any of the cities the tour is coming through? I harp on this every single time I bring this tour up it seems, but it really is incredible. I had an awesome time, and I encourage you to get your tickets if they’re playing nearby. I ended up having to travel quite a ways to see this show, but I would do it every single week if that was in any way doable. It’s THAT good.

WATCH INTERVIEW (@ROBBSMETALWORKS) | VIEW PHOTOS (EDF PHOTO)

  • I’ve had some requests to find older Dope interviews and media. Alright. Here’s a blast from the past courtesy of Robbs Metal Works. This is an interview from 2005, right when American Apathy came out. This album will always be a bit sentimental for me, because it’s the album that started my passion for Dope. Edsel and Racci are in this one, and I think it’s a great watch. They talk about American Apathy, the music business as a whole, the tour at the time, fan response, and much more. This is a fairly long interview at 19 minutes (we love to see it!), it’s well paced and interviewer Robb Chavez is personable and fun.
  • Speaking of, one of the best parts of our Interview Directory is using EDF’s platform to put the spotlight on the content creators behind them as well! I wasn’t aware of Robbs Metal Works before I saw this interview, and now that I am, I’m actually shocked they don’t have more subs. I love their interview style, they’re really engaging and cool. They’re still active, so if you liked this interview please do check out their other content! You can find them right here.

Misc Site Updates

  • I’ve brought back link buttons, but moved them! If you want to link edseldopefan.org, you can head right here to see our new Website page or just grab the buttons down below. Thank you very much if you’ve linked edseldopefan.org, I really appreciate all the support.

And that’s it. I hope you’ve enjoyed this update. Will you be going to the Machine Killer Tour? If so, I hope you have the best time.

Gallery update (Dope – Hold On) and more!

We’re getting closer and closer to Edsel’s birthday! And we’re not slowing down even a little bit with the celebrations. We’re starting off strong with the addition of a new gallery (Dope – Hold On) and moving right into updates to the Graphic Archive. Let’s hop right into it!

dope hold on

VIEW PHOTOS | VIEW VIDEO @DOPETHEBAND

  • 54 screencaps added to the gallery for Dope – Hold On. Major oversight on my part for not adding this gallery sooner. I actually really like this video, it portrays Edsel in a bit of a different way than other releases. You know we love our versatile king!

Graphic Archive Updates

  • One new wallpaper added. I’ve been refreshing the Graphic Archive a bit, and what better time to do it really? To view the other wallpapers click here! (This wallpaper will save as full size, should you save it)

Assorted GIFs Added

No previews for this one – just head straight for the galleries. All GIFs are bundled so that they display one at a time. No yeeting your computer out the window due to slow loading times today! To save, simply scroll until you find the one you want. Then press the Download button at the top of the gallery.

In tour news – the Machine Killer Tour returns April 26th as Dope joins the almighty Static-X and Sevendust! Have you gotten your tickets yet?! Click here for info and how to purchase. You do NOT want to miss this tour! This is essentially a dream team, and I can attest this show is absolutely incredible. Don’t think about it – if they’re coming to your town, just go! Honestly, I would have seen this show twenty more times if that was an option.

That’s about it for this update! I hope you’re enjoying these mega updates as much as I am. There’s still a lot of March left, so there’s more to come.

Edsel’s birthday month needs celebrations with Drama (Club)!

edseldopefan.org is continuing our celebrations of Edsel’s birthday month all throughout March! And what better way to celebrate our idol with some Drama… Club! That’s the only kind of drama I want around here, personally.

Today’s update sees not one, not three, but FIVE galleries added to the Interview Directory! These are the first galleries for Drama Club interviews, and I’m very excited for you to see them. While you’re there, I encourage you to check out each interview – I have them linked here and also in the Directory. Please support these content creators – I hadn’t heard of some of them before, and ended up really enjoying them!

edsel's birthday

What’s part of this massive update? Let’s go over what you’ll find in EDF Photo:

Gallery Updates:

  • 2014 Interview with Clubhead.tv: 30 images from a 2014 interview with Clubhead TV added. Of note are the guys talking about living in a fantasy land which is basically how I live every day. They also speak about the general DJ culture and how they value the performance aspect of what it is they do. Watch the interview: here.
  • 2015 Austin Underground Interview: 24 images from a 2015 interview with Austin Underground added. This interview was done during the Vans Warped tour! It’s very enjoyable to hear them talk about their songwriting process, because you really do feel their sincerity. No rules, just feeling, and you know what? I vibe with that hard. Watch the interview: here.
  • 2015 Jackie Cular Interview: 27 images from a 2015 interview with Jackie Cular added. I ended up really liking this content creator, she seems very natural and laid back. Makes for a very enjoyable interviewer when you have an engaging personality like that. Watch the interview: here.
  • 2015 Dark City Interviews: 49 images from a 2015 interview with Dark City Interviews added. Speaking of engaging personalities, this one starts with Edsel showing his off. I love how they both sound so thankful and grateful for everything they experience, it’s so refreshing. No surly bad energy here. We love to see it. Watch the interview: here.
  • 2015 Alternative Press Interview: 29 images from a 2015 interview with Alternative Press added. Long time visitors to the site are familiar with this interview – it’s got Andy Black (aka Andy Biersack from Black Veil Brides). He makes an offhand remark about them being born with those faces and I hate admitting I laughed about that for about five minutes. Watch the interview: here.

But Wait! There’s More!

At nearly 2000 pictures and counting, EDF Photo is the largest and most continuously updated gallery dedicated to the amazing Edsel Dope. I really hope you enjoy this massive update, and the interviews that accompany it! We’re celebrating Edsel’s birthday all March long, and you better believe we’re doing it in a big way. Don’t miss out!

edseldopefan.org/EDF Photo new looks!

Just a short acknowledgement of the fact that edseldopefan.org and EDF Photo have new looks! This is a big month for Edsel – it’s his birthday month! And you better believe we’re celebrating by bringing our best for him. He certainly deserves it.

This isn’t the only thing we have up our sleeves to honour Edsel this month – be on the lookout for more surprises all throughout March as we celebrate our idol and muse! I can’t wait to show you what I have planned.

edseldopefan.org

Along with our new look, I’ve been revamping a lot of the site – making it easier to navigate, more concise, and of course more informative. This work is ongoing, and I hope you appreciate all that’s been going on. I’m constantly working on making edseldopefan.org the best it can be for you, Edsel’s amazing fans! As always, you can contact me at any time with questions or suggestions. I love hearing from you!

On a side note – real life caused me to take a short hiatus from EDF.org’s social media. I hated doing that, because social media is one of my passions and I love interacting with fellow fans. EDF.org’s social media is a great creative outlet for me that also brings old fans and new to Edsel’s music. But you know how life be, so I put my priority on updating EDF.org if I wasn’t able to do both. Now that my load has been lightened a bit, I have time to do EDF.org and social media! That being said, I would prefer you follow Dope’s social media rather than mine (links in the sidebar). I’m looking forward to getting back to creating more content for Dope fans! I love anything that brings our community together.

That’s about it for this update, I know it’s a bit rambly and a lot of tldr. I just want you to know I am genuinely glad you’ve come to support Edsel, and I thank you for every visit. Edsel really means a lot to me, and I know he means a lot to all of you as well. I’ve said it before, but it really is my pleasure to bring you only the best. It’s almost a year of edseldopefan.org, and I’m looking forward to everything to come. Take care of yourselves!

Drama Club video galleries + Graphic Archive Update

Hello there! I’m back with another update. This time, I’m bringing you an update to the Drama Club video galleries, and a small update to the Graphic Archive. Read on to find out what’s new!

drama club video galleries

WATCH VIDEO | VIEW SCREENCAPS (EDF PHOTO)

I’ve added 45 screencaps to the “Maniac” gallery. Drama Club is a new-ish video category on EDF Photo, and I hope it becomes one of your favourites. We don’t only cover Dope here on EDF.org, because we are an Edsel Dope fansite. We cover ALL aspects of Edsel’s career here! I find too few people have seen the video for Maniac – if that sounds like you, you know how to fix that, yeah? I’ve provided the link to the video right above. And while you’re at it, sub to Drama Club’s Youtube channel. Might as well, you’re going there anyway to watch the video!

VIEW VIDEO | VIEW SCREENCAPS (EDF PHOTO)

57 screencaps from They Don’t Need to Understand have been added! This is a remix of a song by Andy Black (aka Andy Biersack of Black Veil Brides). Recently, it occurred to me that I’d never heard the original, so I looked it up. If you’re curious as well, you can listen to the original here. Having heard both… I have to say I do prefer the remix by Drama Club. Don’t get me wrong – both are awesome! You put either on and I’m stoked, no question. The Drama Club remix just has that bit of extra edge that I like. I do hope you listen to both though!

Graphic Archive Update

Along with the Drama Club video galleries, I’ve added four gifs of the Maniac video to the Graphic Archive. Since I don’t hate your connection, I’ve bundled my gifs so they load one at a time. Simply choose the download option at the top of the gallery and you’re set!

Group Therapy by Dope (Flashback Sunday)

Group Therapy by Dope was released on October 21st, 2003. For this week’s Flashback Sunday, I’ll be speaking a bit about this awesome album. And I’ve come with presents. Don’t I always? It’s a gallery update, and this one’s very on theme. It’s screencaps from “Bring it On”, one of the many videos that was released with the enhanced version of the record. But more on that in a bit.

Now let’s Bring it On… It’s Group Therapy by Dope!

group therapy by dope

VIEW VIDEO / VIEW SCREENCAPS (EDF PHOTO)

Group Therapy was a bit ahead of its time in many respects. One of those ways is something you might not have expected! We hear about artists releasing visual albums from time to time, but did you know Dope was doing this before it was popular?

With the release of Group Therapy, there was a music video that accompanied every song in the enhanced version of the album. I genuinely can’t think of many (if any!) artists that were doing this so early in the industry. Keep in mind, this was 2003. There’s wasn’t much available to promote visual albums back then. There wasn’t any such thing as Youtube or other streaming services – Youtube wasn’t founded until 2005! (By the way, you’ve subbed to Dope’s Youtube channel, right? I hope so…) Netflix didn’t start video on demand till 2007. Trying something new relied largely on word of mouth or hopefully, promotion from your label.

Not Afraid To Be Different

Compared to 2001’s Life, which had a more straight up rock vibe, Group Therapy took things in a new direction. The album has been called a stark departure from Dope’s general tonal aggression, with songs such as “Easier”, “Sing” and “Another Day Goes By” punctuating a more alternative sound. Some say it’s an exception to the rule. I tend to disagree. I always thought the point of Dope is that there’s no hard and fast rules about what a Dope song is. Truth is, Edsel has never been afraid to experiment with his sound! In a landscape where artists have been hesitant about changing their sound too much, he’s always looking to push the envelope and shake things up. Group Therapy is just one such outing. I love when Edsel tries new things, as do so many of his fans!

I hope that this look back at Group Therapy inspires you to give this album another listen! It’s one of my favourite albums, and I hope it’s one of yours as well!

Dope Music Video Galleries Update!

Dope music video galleries have been updated on EDF Photo! As excitement mounts for the second leg of the Machine Killer Tour, I’ve got a whole lot of Edsel to tide you over until the big day. (It resumes tomorrow! Have you got your tickets yet?) Let’s get right into it.

dope addiction music video

VIEW GALLERY / WATCH VIDEO

27 screencaps from the “Addiction” video have been added to EDF Photo. Released with the album No Regrets, Addiction features Zakk Wylde of Black Label Society/Ozzy Osbourne fame. It also features the famous Serenity prayer! You know, the one people in recovery recite as a grounding exercise? That being said, if being addicted to Edsel is wrong, I don’t really want to know what right is. (We’re edseldopefan.org, of course we enable our Edsel addiction! And yours too.)

VIEW GALLERY / WATCH VIDEO

37 screencaps from the “Burn” video have also been added! Featured on the album Group Therapy, there was actually a video for every song on the enhanced portion of this record. That’s pretty impressive in my opinion, particularly for back then. We see visual albums pop up from time to time in recent years, but Dope was doing this way back in 2003. I see Burn as an intensely cathartic song, and it will always occupy real estate in my heart for that. I’m sure I’m not the only one who feels this way, either.

I’ve been doing a bit of re-arranging in EDF Photo, so please excuse our mess! I hope to get caps of every Dope music video that’s been released in due time. EDF Photo is already the largest Edsel Dope photo gallery on the net – and we’re just getting started.
