Dope’s hotly anticipated video for “LoveSong” has dropped! Directed by Edsel Dope and long time collaborator Matt Zane, it features Drama Club amid an aesthetic that seems both intensely Dope and intensely Drama Club at the same time.
Dope has always done amazing covers, and this one is no exception. Originally performed by The Cure, Dope’s addition of Drama Club on the track is a fun twist that breathes new life into a song that has been interpreted by many artists. Thus, making their arrangement truly their own.
If you haven’t seen this video yet, click here to give it a watch! 88 screencaps have been added to EDF Photo as well. My personal thoughts are I think this might surpass Now or Never as my favourite Dope video.
While you’re over there watching anyway, show your support to Dope by liking the video and subscribing to their channel if you have not already!

Dope have announced that they are releasing a video for “Lovesong” tomorrow (10/04/2023). “Lovesong” is a track off the band’s latest album “Blood Money Part Zer0”. Originally performed by The Cure, Dope has given this classic a new twist by featuring Edsel’s second band Drama Club. Edsel also directed this video, which is a delight to see. You can view a tantalizing teaser for the video, where we see the band in Drama Club masks and a few pretty intense scenes of … don’t really know how to describe it? Two individuals in pretty awesome SFX makeup, that’s all I know. Very intriguing, indeed.
Looking to check out the video? This link will take you right to it: it’s set to premiere in 15 hours as of this writing. There’s an option to receive a notification when it does, so be sure to hit that bell so you don’t miss it!

Yo to you too, sir!

The highly anticipated Machine Killer tour begins tomorrow! On the eve of what promises to be a tour not to miss, we got news. Big news. The Machine Killer Tour is running through the end of February of next year! That’s right – if you haven’t gotten the chance to see Dope opening for the almighty Static-X and Sevendust, you’ve got another shot to get in on the action! We love to see it. You can find info about the extended dates right here on Dope’s official site.
If this wasn’t your sign to get tickets now, I don’t know what more to tell you. I know I’ve got mine!
Along with this incredible announcement, we were treated to a new tour poster that showcases the additional dates. You can see it below – click the poster for full size!

I did this a couple months back and decided to make it a semi regular feature: today, I’ll be showing you my picks in Dope’s merch store. Welcome to EDF’s first official Dope Merch Round-up! I know it can be tough to pick when you’ve got so many great choices, so allow me to give you a hand. I might also do this for Static-X merch as well, just for fun!
As a side note, I would like to emphasize that no one is paying me for this post – this is strictly my opinion and only my opinion. I’m not going to waste your time with stuff I don’t truly like, and no amount of money will get me to tell you something I don’t believe.
With that out of the way, let’s get to it!

I believe this one was on my last informal Merch Roundup. Always liked this pic of Edsel, so badass. As of this writing, this shirt is $13.99!

Classic cheeky Monster High shirt. It also comes in a hoodie!

Going a bit different for my next pick. Yeah, you probably have a shit ton of coffee mugs at home. Add this one anyway.

Speaking as a female, I’d probably ask you out if you wore this, tbh. Or at least give you that “you have good taste” head nod.
That’s it for our first Dope Merch Round up! Hopefully my picks were helpful if you’re considering making a purchase from Dope’s store. There’s a lot of awesome merch there, so really you can’t go wrong no matter what you choose.

Our first Spotlight is a song I’m rather attached to: I Am, from Dope’s 2003 release Group Therapy. For those not familiar with this song, I Am is the fuck you anthem you didn’t know you needed until now. You might recognize a blast from the past in this video: Mistress Juliya, aka Juliya Chernetsky makes an appearance. Quite the hot ticket in the early 00s, Juliya was basically everywhere on the metal scene back then. Couldn’t escape that girl.
Please enjoy the video, and as always if you like what you see why not subscribe to Dope’s official Youtube channel? You’ll have access to just about their entire catalogue there. They’re sitting at about 116K subs and even though that makes them eligible for a silver Creator Award, we all know we can do better than that. So get to it.
