Machine Killer Tour aftermath catch-up

Time for a bit of Machine Killer Tour aftermath catch-up! Yes, I know, the Machine Killer Tour’s finale was this month. Sad days, but Edsel has to rest sometime! And he more than deserves it. This tour was absolutely phenomenal. I really hope you got to see it!

Back to the subject at hand: here’s a few things you missed, so let’s get you up to date.

machine killer tour aftermath

Keep Supporting Edsel!

Speaking of… I hope that by seeing the offerings on EDF Photo, you are inspired to support Edsel by purchasing his music (you can do so at dopetheband.com). He’s a really talented artist and frankly? He doesn’t get the credit or recognition he deserves. You can fix that, though!

In the Machine Killer Tour aftermath, we need to continue with this awesome energy. It’s really up to us, the fans, to keep the fire going. I’m just one girl shouting in the wilderness, here. How can you all help? Easy! It does mean a lot when you support Edsel by buying his music or even following him on social media. If you already do – thank you so much! If not, you know what to do. <3

Dope Die MF Die GIFs, Site Updates and more!

Today’s update sees some shiny new bells and whistles on edseldopefan.org, some additions to the Graphic Archive (Dope Die MF Die Reunion gifs) and a new series hitting EDF.org’s social media. Let’s not waste any time and hop right into it.

dope die mf die

  • As you might be able to tell, we have polished up our look even more lately. I’m really happy for you to see it. I do all the graphics and site design myself, and hopefully my skills do Edsel justice.
  • EDF Photo also got a new-ish look. The site experience should now aesthetically be more cohesive throughout, which is my goal.

Graphic Archive Updates:

  • Five GIFs from the Now or Never video added. Though Lovesong unseated it from the top spot in my favourite Dope videos, it’s still sitting pretty at a solid second. As with all the GIFs I create, I do not show previews here like I do other graphics. (I too hate fansites that have a ton of gifs that need to load and make everything hella slow.) Simply head directly to the page here.
  • Two GIFs from the from the Die MF Die Reunion promo added.
  • I am working on more graphics content, since I know that’s a popular aspect of this fansite. Please note: all my graphics are free and always will be. The only thing I ask in return is not using them as the basis of your own work. And maybe a link back too, if you use and like them!

How It Starts

  • I know I don’t really talk about edseldopefan.org’s social media presence a lot on this site. There’s a reason for that. I want you to follow and sub to Edsel’s social media, not mine. It really is one of the best ways to support him and his music, so go do that now if you haven’t yet. Go on. I’ll wait.
  • Back? Good. I make short form content about Edsel once a week on our social media. Our Tiktok and Instagram will be hosting a new series to that end, How it Starts. Part music challenge, part hype for a supremely underrated band, it will look at Dope (and Edsel’s music as a whole) in a fresh new way.
  • I hope you join us for the series! On Tiktok and Insta, we are @edseldopefanorg. I will also be posting it here in case you don’t have either platform.

Dope The Early Years Booklet Scans

Today’s update sees EDF Photo updated with scans from the booklet that accompanied Dope: The Early Years. This is an addition to my own personal collection of Dope band memorabilia that I didn’t have until recently. (“What?! Cristina, you didn’t have this yet? Fake fan confirmed.”) I know, right? Scandal! But I’ve since righted that wrong. Let’s find out all about it right now!

dope the early years

Dope: The Early Years Booklet

  • 28 scans have been added from the Dope: The Early years booklet. To view the scans, click here! This booklet accompanied The Early Years: New York City 1997/1998, which was released July 31, 2018. Not familiar with this release? Let’s give you the scoop: The Early Years: New York City 1997/1998 is a compilation of Dope’s early demos. Before Dope was the powerhouse we know now, they were just finding their feet in the late 90s. Many of the tracks on this album went on to Dope’s debut release Felons and Revolutionaries.
  • The Early Years: New York City 1997/1998 also includes an awesome booklet where Edsel details Dope’s beginnings. If you’ve never read it, it’s genuinely an awesome read. When I tell you, the way I would absolutely devour a memoir written by this man… the pages of this book are filled with fascinating stories. (Edsel, if you ever happen to see this… memoir when?!)

I do want to add one more thing: I hope my content inspires you to support Edsel by purchasing his music. If I’ve piqued your interest, please buy this compilation! It really is something special for any Dope fan’s collection.

Dope Essentials Playlist, updates + more!

Got a bit of an assorted update for you today. We’re righting a minor wrong and making our own Dope Essentials playlist, shining the spotlight on some updated pages on EDF.org and so much more! Let’s get right into it.

dope essentials playlist

  • Dope Essentials Playlist: What would a Dope Essentials playlist look like as curated by edseldopefan.org? We’ve answered that question right here and right now! Obviously, I got this idea from Apple Essentials so the concept isn’t unique. That being said, we’re putting together a Dope Essentials playlist for a reason: Apple Essentials doesn’t have one. And when Dope is overlooked, we’re here to correct that minor wrong! I have to say, our picks are pretty rad, so I do hope you give them a listen. If you’d like to see our suggested Essentials picks, you can view them right here on EDF.org’s Youtube. While you’re there: be sure to sub to @dopetheband on Youtube with notifications ON so you never miss a video. Our Essentials playlist is also featured on Edsel’s revamped biography page. Speaking of…
  • Edsel Biography Revamped: This has been on my to-do for awhile, and now I’m ready to share the revamped Edsel biography page. You can view it right here. Along with the Dope Essentials playlist, I’ve added a profile on Ecco Studios. Here at EDF.org, we do focus on Edsel’s entire career (not just his work with Dope). A lot of fans might not be aware of his work with Ecco Studios – but even if you are, I hope you enjoy reading this profile.

But wait… there’s more!

  • Graphic Archive Updated: I’ve added gifs from Dope’s video for Hold On to the GIFs section. Since I don’t hate your internet connection, I do not place previews here on the updates page. Head on over directly with the link provided. GIFs are also bundled so that they display one at a time. Simply flip through and download whichever ones you fancy!

That’s about it for today. Hope you enjoy today’s updates – let’s leave you with my little thank you for us being together for one year to support Edsel. <3 Looking forward to many more to come.

@edseldopefanorg

edseldopefan.org is proud to be celebrating our ONE YEAR anniversary! Since May 4th, 2023, we have been your number one fan run resource for rock icon Edsel Dope! None of this would be possible without you, our visitors. Thank you so much, I mean that from the bottom of my heart. ❤️ – Cristina #dope #dopeband #dopetheband #edseldope #dopearmy #metal #music #rediscover #trending #fypage #musica

edseldopefan.org: Celebrating ONE YEAR!

Today, edseldopefan.org is celebrating our ONE YEAR anniversary!

edseldopefan.org celebrating one year

That’s right! We’re celebrating one year of edseldopefan.org today!

When I opened this fansite, I had two goals:

  • The first was to make the sort of fansite I as a fan would love to visit. I’ve always done things with the fans in mind, because I want this site to be amazing for you. One thing about Edsel’s fans is they are passionate about him, and you all deserve nothing but the best. When I started with EDF, there wasn’t a whole lot about Edsel around the net. There is of course Dope’s official site and I encourage you to visit that often, but fan run resources are also very important in the conversation.
  • The second? I wanted to be able to give back, even in a small way, to a man who’s been a massive inspiration to me! Edsel has been such a positive force for good in my life: because of him, I want to push myself harder and be even stronger in my creative pursuits. (And stronger when it comes to life in general). He’s given me so much, so I am thrilled to help get the word out about Edsel and share his music with the world!

Thank you so much to everyone who’s visited, and continues to visit. It really does mean the world to me. I’m looking forward to many years to come in supporting and celebrating Edsel and his legendary career!

Much love,
Cristina xoxo

Dope at Sick New World Photos

Want to see new pics of Dope at Sick New World? Then why aren’t you following Dope on their social media accounts? One of the pics they’ve posted is of Edsel, and when I tell you I covet that shirt… I’m not kidding. That is a fricking rad shirt. It looks like Dope’s set brought in a lot of people judging by that shot of the audience. We love to see it!

dope sick new world

Seriously, if you aren’t following Dope on social media… what in the world (the Sick New World in this case) … are you doing with your time? Stop doom scrolling for a moment and follow Dope! (Actually, maybe stop doom scrolling altogether, that’s not good for you). To see ALL the pics Dope posted from this concert on their social media accounts, please follow them with the links below.

In Dope tour news, the Machine Killer Tour is still going strong! As far as I know, VIP packages are still available – if you can swing it, it’s a really awesome experience. Every Dope fan’s dream, really. For more info, check out my post here on what to expect on the VIP experience. It might seem a bit overwhelming at first, but honestly for me? The experience of getting to meet my idol and muse was absolutely priceless. I’d do it again in a heartbeat.

Remember, remember the… 4th of May. (Pardon me, Edsel’s attire got that stuck in my head, so I had to use the joke.) edseldopefan.org’s ONE YEAR anniversary is coming up, and we couldn’t be more excited. I hope you’ll be back to celebrate with us. <3

edseldopefan.org One Year Anniversary and more!

Just wanted to pop on to acknowledge edseldopefan.org is celebrating our ONE YEAR anniversary on May 4th! That’s right, this May 4th, we’ll have been bringing Edsel’s devoted fans only the best for a full year. All this and more in our Site Update!

edseldopefan one year anniversary

Upcoming: edseldopefan.org One Year Anniversary!

  • This May 4th, the Force is certainly with us as we celebrate EDF.org’s one year anniversary! Hard to believe we’ve been open a full year, seems like only yesterday I opened the site’s doors.
  • When I opened this site, one of my goals was to make the kind of fansite I as a fan would want to visit. No BS, no nonsense. A respectful tribute that both promotes and supports Edsel while remaining positive and gossip free.
  • Another was to give back (even in a small way) to a man who has inspired me so much. Edsel has been my creative muse for years. I can only hope to one day be as talented in my chosen fields. Thank you Edsel, for being such a positive force for good in my life.
  • I’ve said it before, but it bears repeating. It really is my pleasure to bring Edsel and his fans only the best. Edsel has a very devoted fanbase, and if I’m not giving you everything I’ve got, I’m not doing my job very well.
  • And I’d be remiss if I didn’t thank you: Dope’s loyal fans, Edsel admirers, Drama Club maniacs. This site is absolutely nothing without you.

I don’t want to go too much into the tribute side of things when it’s not even our anniversary yet. On May 4th, we’ll make the occasion properly. You know we celebrate big time here at edseldopefan.org, and this? This is no exception.

New(ish) Layout

  • As any longtime visitor to this site knows, I’m a raging perfectionist. I always see room for improvement. As such, to mark our one year anniversary, please enjoy our new(ish) layout.
  • The layout is a refresh of my original design. There were aspects of the old graphic that just didn’t please my picky eyes anymore. I hope you enjoy the re-do. It comes just in time to celebrate our anniversary!
  • I’ve also added new info pieces to the sidebar. There’s now one that tracks the Evil Disco movie!

Thanks for sticking around to read this Site Update. And be sure to come back and celebrate edseldopefan.org’s one year anniversary with us!

Evil Disco The Movie Trailer Screencaps

Hello hello, and welcome to another update. Sorry for being MIA, I wasn’t feeling well the past few days. Today we’re jumping right into it with updates to EDF Photo (got to remind you about Evil Disco The Movie after all!).

evil disco the movie

VIEW SCREENCAPS (EDF PHOTO) | VIEW TRAILER (STATIC-X OFFICIAL YOUTUBE)

Evil Disco The Movie

  • 23 photos have been added to the Evil Disco gallery on EDF Photo. Edsel isn’t shown too much in this trailer, but hey … this is a momentous movie, and he’s in it. We’re covering it, for sure.
  • Is this the first time you’ve heard about the movie Evil Disco? Let’s give you a quick recap of what we know. Evil Disco is billed as a chronicle of the rise, fall and regeneration of metal legends Static-X. Not only will we hear from the band in their own words, but a veritable who’s who of metal superstars. The trailer features Dino from Fear Factory, Lajon Witherspoon of Sevendust, Dave Navarro, and of course… Edsel Dope. That’s enough star power to make any metal fan excited to see this movie, in my opinion. There’s no release date as of yet, but we’re keeping our eyes peeled here.
  • I’ve provided the link above so you can go right to Static-X ‘s official Youtube channel to check out the trailer for yourself. Be sure to subscribe if you haven’t already so you never miss a video from the band!
  • Interested in my thoughts on this movie? I’ve given my initial reaction to the trailer right here. I’m still really excited to see this movie. As a longtime Static-X fan, I’ve always hoped there would one day be a documentary where they get to tell their story themselves. Edsel featuring in the movie is just a bonus!

What do YOU think? Are you excited for the movie Evil Disco? Will you be seeing it when it comes out?

Dope on tour HYPE: Celebrate the Best!

Dope is on tour starting the 26th of April! That’s right, the third leg of the Machine Killer Tour carves a path through the Pacific Northwest, Canada and the Midwest! We’re super excited here at edseldopefan.org and we think this incredible tour is reason to celebrate! For those of you that aren’t familiar with the Machine Killer Tour, here’s a bit of a breakdown:

  • Static-X and Sevendust headline, Dope and Lines of Loyalty are supporting.
  • This is a North American tour, and there have been two legs of this tour so far! (See my review of the Atlanta stop here)
  • There are chances to meet Dope in various VIP packages that are on sale now! Click here for info and how to purchase.

I’ve been shouting about this tour for what seems like actual ages, and honestly? If I haven’t convinced you that you should see this show by now, I don’t know what to tell you! I think the footage I captured at the Atlanta stop speaks for itself, really. I was pretty close to the stage and captured some great stuff. Mind you, I wasn’t filming the entire time: I was kind of focused on enjoying the moment! There’s a lot of awesome creators that have filmed full length Dope sets, and if you like I’ll highlight these creators in a future post. For now, let’s take a look at what I filmed at the Tabernacle:

@edseldopefanorg

Dope @ the Tabernacle in Atlanta. Filmed by edseldopefan.org. If you have a chance to see the #machinekillertour in a city near you: DO IT. It’s incredible. #edseldope #dopetheband #dope #dopearmy #thetabernacle #atlanta #atlantageorgia #atl

♬ original sound – edseldopefan.org

Edsel pretty much sounds identical to the record when you see him live. It’s pretty wild! I did buy a VIP package as well and that was also freaking rad. If you can swing it, and they’re available at the show you want to attend, definitely consider it! Edsel is very sweet and gracious.

Curious? See for yourself!

What do you say? Have I intrigued you? Looking to purchase your own tickets to the Machine Killer Tour? Everyone should see Dope on tour at least once. Click here for how to purchase your tickets! I’m seriously so excited for you if you get to go!

Dope tour news, gallery updates, and more!

Hello hello! I’ve gone a bit longer than I prefer without any updates, for that I do apologise. I’ve been working pretty steadily on the site, so I’m always around. Today’s update has Dope tour news, a gallery update and more! So without further ado, let’s hop right into it.

Dope on Tour

  • The THIRD leg of the Machine Killer Tour starts on the 26th of April. This jaunt across North America looks like it’s taking the tour across the PNW, Canada and the Midwest. Are you in or near any of the cities the tour is coming through? I harp on this every single time I bring this tour up it seems, but it really is incredible. I had an awesome time, and I encourage you to get your tickets if they’re playing nearby. I ended up having to travel quite a ways to see this show, but I would do it every single week if that was in any way doable. It’s THAT good.

If you’re interested, click here for info and how to purchase!

Gallery Update: Robbs Metal Works

WATCH INTERVIEW (@ROBBSMETALWORKS) | VIEW PHOTOS (EDF PHOTO)

  • I’ve had some requests to find older Dope interviews and media. Alright. Here’s a blast from the past courtesy of Robbs Metal Works. This is an interview from 2005, right when American Apathy came out. This album will always be a bit sentimental for me, because it’s the album that started my passion for Dope. Edsel and Racci are in this one, and I think it’s a great watch. They talk about American Apathy, the music business as a whole, the tour at the time, fan response, and much more. This is a fairly long interview at 19 minutes (we love to see it!), it’s well paced and interviewer Robb Chavez is personable and fun.
  • Speaking of, one of the best parts of our Interview Directory is using EDF’s platform to put the spotlight on the content creators behind them as well! I wasn’t aware of Robbs Metal Works before I saw this interview, and now that I am, I’m actually shocked they don’t have more subs. I love their interview style, they’re really engaging and cool. They’re still active, so if you liked this interview please do check out their other content! You can find them right here.

Misc Site Updates

  • I’ve brought back link buttons, but moved them! If you want to link edseldopefan.org, you can head right here to see our new Website page or just grab the buttons down below. Thank you very much if you’ve linked edseldopefan.org, I really appreciate all the support.

And that’s it. I hope you’ve enjoyed this update. Will you be going to the Machine Killer Tour? If so, I hope you have the best time.
