I come bearing a nice update: Edsel Dope graphics! You heard right, it’s Edsel’s birthday month, and YOU get the presents. Hell yeah! I’ve been re-doing the Graphic Archive and putting a lot more goodies in there to celebrate Edsel’s birthday! This is the first of several big updates I have planned to celebrate Edsel this month. Well… we always celebrate Edsel, but you get the point.
Interested in all the Edsel Dope graphics you get with this update? Read on!
20 100×100 Icons
20 100×100 icons have been added. These look great on Discord, forums, wherever you want to show your support for Edsel! Plus, a rock icon for your icon? How meta(l). Yes, I reused that joke. I have no regrets… okay, you can send me to joke jail for that one. Girlbossed too close to the sun.
3 Discord Profile Banners
A new addition to the Graphic Archive is Discord profile banners. You do need Nitro to add banners to your Discord profile, but these would probably work just as well as forum signatures too.
4 Gifs Added
I added four gifs from the Drama Club “Maniac” video! Since I don’t hate you or your net connection, I’ll direct you to check ’em out here!
On a side note, today marks 14 years since Dope’s iconic album No Regrets was released. What’s your favourite track from this epic album? I have to say mine varies, but lately it’s Scorn. I made a video for EDF’s Tiktok to celebrate the occasion!
March 10th. 2009 saw the release of Dope’s iconic album No Regrets. Featuring tracks like My Funeral, Addiction, Best for Me, and of course the title track, No Regrets remains an eternal classic. What’s your fave song on the album?#metal#dope#dopetheband#edseldope#dopearmy#dopeband#music#trending
Just a short acknowledgement of the fact that edseldopefan.org and EDF Photo have new looks! This is a big month for Edsel – it’s his birthday month! And you better believe we’re celebrating by bringing our best for him. He certainly deserves it.
This isn’t the only thing we have up our sleeves to honour Edsel this month – be on the lookout for more surprises all throughout March as we celebrate our idol and muse! I can’t wait to show you what I have planned.
Along with our new look, I’ve been revamping a lot of the site – making it easier to navigate, more concise, and of course more informative. This work is ongoing, and I hope you appreciate all that’s been going on. I’m constantly working on making edseldopefan.org the best it can be for you, Edsel’s amazing fans! As always, you can contact me at any time with questions or suggestions. I love hearing from you!
On a side note – real life caused me to take a short hiatus from EDF.org’s social media. I hated doing that, because social media is one of my passions and I love interacting with fellow fans. EDF.org’s social media is a great creative outlet for me that also brings old fans and new to Edsel’s music. But you know how life be, so I put my priority on updating EDF.org if I wasn’t able to do both. Now that my load has been lightened a bit, I have time to do EDF.org and social media! That being said, I would prefer you follow Dope’s social media rather than mine (links in the sidebar). I’m looking forward to getting back to creating more content for Dope fans! I love anything that brings our community together.
That’s about it for this update, I know it’s a bit rambly and a lot of tldr. I just want you to know I am genuinely glad you’ve come to support Edsel, and I thank you for every visit. Edsel really means a lot to me, and I know he means a lot to all of you as well. I’ve said it before, but it really is my pleasure to bring you only the best. It’s almost a year of edseldopefan.org, and I’m looking forward to everything to come. Take care of yourselves!
Hello there! I’m back with another update. This time, I’m bringing you an update to the Drama Club video galleries, and a small update to the Graphic Archive. Read on to find out what’s new!
I’ve added 45 screencaps to the “Maniac” gallery. Drama Club is a new-ish video category on EDF Photo, and I hope it becomes one of your favourites. We don’t only cover Dope here on EDF.org, because we are an Edsel Dope fansite. We cover ALL aspects of Edsel’s career here! I find too few people have seen the video for Maniac – if that sounds like you, you know how to fix that, yeah? I’ve provided the link to the video right above. And while you’re at it, sub to Drama Club’s Youtube channel. Might as well, you’re going there anyway to watch the video!
57 screencaps from They Don’t Need to Understand have been added! This is a remix of a song by Andy Black (aka Andy Biersack of Black Veil Brides). Recently, it occurred to me that I’d never heard the original, so I looked it up. If you’re curious as well, you can listen to the original here. Having heard both… I have to say I do prefer the remix by Drama Club. Don’t get me wrong – both are awesome! You put either on and I’m stoked, no question. The Drama Club remix just has that bit of extra edge that I like. I do hope you listen to both though!
Graphic Archive Update
Along with the Drama Club video galleries, I’ve added four gifs of the Maniac video to the Graphic Archive. Since I don’t hate your connection, I’ve bundled my gifs so they load one at a time. Simply choose the download option at the top of the gallery and you’re set!
If you’re not sure what a fanlisting is, here’s the description from thefanlistings.org:
A fanlisting is simply an online listing of fans of a subject, such as a TV show, actor, or musician, that is created by an individual and open for fans from around the world to join. There are no costs, and the only requirements to join a fanlisting are your name and country. Fanlistings do not have to be large sites (although some are). They are just a place where you can have your name listed along with other fans of the same subject. TheFanlistings.org is the original (but not only) web directory for fanlistings, dedicated to uniting fans across the globe.
Basically: if you’re a fan of that subject, you join. There is no cost, and it’s a way for you to display your support for the fanlisting’s subject. The idea is that you might find people with similar interests to yours, as thefanlistings.org is an entire network based on sites following this concept. In fact, many people who have websites have small collectives that showcase all the fanlistings they have joined.
EDF.org is excited to be part of The Fanlistings Network. My entire purpose for this site is to bring Edsel’s fans together, so hosting the Edsel Dope/Dope fanlistings is really a perfect fit. You can find this and other fanlistings on their website.
In site news, I’m doing a tidy up of the Graphic Archive. New additions are in the pipeline as well. EDF Photo has also been in the process of a revamp. I’ve cleaned it up a bit so that it is easier to navigate, and it will be getting a new look soon. (As will EDF itself, to commemorate something big that’s happening next month!)
Site UpdatesComments Off on Happy Holidays from EDF.org!
Just a quick note to wish everyone happy holidays! This has been a great year for us (and for Edsel!), and I have a feeling 2024 will be amazing. Here’s hoping you’re right here with us.
However you celebrate and whatever you celebrate, hope it’s a good one. Even if it’s celebrating another day, that sounds like a holiday to me! Take care everybody, and we’ll jump right back into things after Christmas.
I’ve done a revamp of the Edsel interview section on EDF Photo: it is now the Interview Directory! The Directory is simply a curated collection of Edsel Dope interviews all in one place. In the Directory, not only can you browse our screencap collection, you can go right to each interview by following the link in each album. It will take you right to the original source! As I’ve said before, I want EDF.org to be your ultimate resource for the support and appreciation of Edsel Dope. Now, it’s never been easier to get your Edsel fix!
Curious about the update? Here’s the complete list of what’s been added to EDF Photo.
Please support the content creators in the Directory by watching their videos with the links to the interview provided in each album! All credit is to them, I simply screencapped the interviews and gathered them in one place. Looking at the screencaps isn’t a substitute for seeing the real deal, so please do check out the interviews when you can. Edsel is always an engaging and entertaining person, and these interviews show that and then some!
You will also be able to access the Interview Directory via Edsel’s biography page. I’m in the process of overhauling a lot of pages on the site and that one’s on my list.
It’s always my hope that you enjoy this site as much as I enjoy running it for you. If you ever want to reach out, please feel free to do so here. While I do have social media accounts for EDF.org, I prefer people follow Edsel on socials and not me. So I don’t really publicize EDF’s socials a lot. But you’re always free to contact me there too: I’m edseldopefanorg on Tiktok and Instagram.
A few little updates for you today. For those in the US, happy Thanksgiving! Consider this my gift to you. And if you live elsewhere, it’s still a gift for you. Just… not a Thanksgiving one.
Wallpapers
Three Wallpapers have been added to the Wallpaper section. Your desktop needs more Edsel, and I’m here to deliver.
I’ve been obsessed with making more media relating to the Lovesong video and had the idea for that one kicking in my head for awhile. The wallpaper is a bit of a different visual aesthetic than people are used to for Dope, but that’s not a bad thing. You could say that for the video itself, too. Change is good! We support Edsel wherever his creative mind takes him.
Simply click on the previews to get the full sized wallpaper, and if you’d like to see all my offerings click here.
46 screencaps of Dope’s Now or Never video have been added to EDF Photo. This tends to be a video fans either haven’t seen a lot of or don’t remember, and that’s really a shame. Before Lovesong came out and unseated it, Now or Never was actually my favourite Dope video. (Coming in second isn’t anything to be ashamed of though!) I’ve linked the video for you to check out if you haven’t, or it’s been awhile since you’ve seen it. I really recommend that you do!
Site Cleanup
I’ve been going through the site and giving some pages a facelift and improvements. You might not notice them right away, but I hope you appreciate it none the less. I’m always working on making this site the very best it can be for you.
And that’s about it, I know this update was a bit all over the place. It’s the result of me working in the background for the past week. Please enjoy!
edseldopefan.org has a new layout! I’m actually super happy with this, I think it turned out absolutely gorgeous. I know it’s not exactly the aesthetic you’re used to when it comes to Edsel, but there’s room for all sorts of styles out there! To paraphrase Edsel himself: “It’s art! It either speaks to you, or it doesn’t. Either way, it’s all good.”
I’ve been giving the site an overhaul bit by bit so be sure to browse around! Flashback Sunday will be back next week, as I wanted to give EDF.org’s new look a chance to shine. A couple of things caught my eye recently in the world of Dope merch, so there may be a new Merch Roundup soon as well.
Apologies for the delay in updates. I’ve been working on a new layout for EDF.org, so that’s taken a bit of my time. I don’t have an exact date it will be debuted other than SOON[tm], but it’s shaping up to be gorgeous. I can’t wait for you to see it.
EDF Photo has been updated, with the following galleries added:
Debonaire
Sick
With these additions, EDF Photo has an incredible 1,090 photos in 22 albums! What’s wild is, we’ve only just begun. I started EDF.org to give back to a man who truly inspires me, and it’s my sincere hope you enjoy this site as much as I love working on it for you. edseldopefan.org is the largest and most continuously updated resource for Edsel Dope, and it’s certainly my pleasure to bring only the best to you – his devoted fans! Thank you so much for your visits and kind words, it really means the world.
Sorry for that detour, but it does come from the heart. Thank you.
If you have not already seen the videos for Debonaire and Sick, I think you know what you must do. Click the links above to watch them right on Dope’s official channel. If you aren’t already subbed, why not hit subscribe? It really does help a lot to subscribe and show your support for Edsel and his music! Not only can you watch these and a ton of other Dope videos on their channel, you can check out all their releases as well. Right now, Dope’s sitting at about 121K subscribers, and while that does make them eligible for a Silver creator award… we can do better than that, right? Right. When you sub, be sure to hit the notification bell so you never miss an upload, as seen below:
On the 10th of October, I was in attendance at the Machine Killer Tour’s stop in Atlanta. My advice? If you have a chance to see this show when it comes to a town near you, *do it.* It was absolutely incredible. I’ll try to give you a bit of a rundown of what went on as best I can.
While I was mostly in attendance to cover Dope, I have to say the entire show has a level of production value and polish that makes every moment a visual and auditory feast. Dope took the stage after Lines of Loyalty (keep reading for my opinions on them). Edsel’s voice sounded fantastic during this set, as though he had barely aged a day since Dope first exploded onto the music scene. I’d go as far to say that his voice sounds basically identical to how it does on Dope records, which is a feat not a lot of vocalists can claim. My only gripe is not even a gripe, really: I just wish the set had been longer! I could have gone for an hour of listening to them. As they were an opening act, their set was short but damn did it kick ass.
I’ve added several videos from the performance to EDF.org’s Youtube page. Though you might find the opinion of the webmaster of an Edsel Dope fansite a bit biased (Which… fair, enough, I guess?), I think the videos prove that Dope’s still got it. Click here if you’d like to see them! I’ve still got more to upload, so keep checking back! (And while you’re at it, please also sub to Dope’s official YT – you can do so at @dopetheband)
Additionally, I had the absolute honour and pleasure of meeting Edsel as part of the VIP Bus Hang add on. To say this was a dream realized is a massive understatement. He was very sweet and very kind. Just a really genuine and authentic person. I actually walked away from that meeting even more of a fan of his, which I didn’t think was possible! I also got to meet Daniel Fox, who is adorable. He gave each member of the VIP group one of his picks, a bonus I will certainly treasure.
If you can swing it, I recommend taking part in this VIP package if there are any left at the show you’re attending. I don’t use the phrase “best day ever” lightly, but this was probably my best day ever. Compared to a lot of artist meet and greets, this gives you a lot of value for what you spend and the memories are absolutely priceless.
My thoughts on the other acts on the bill:
Lines of Loyalty: I had actually never heard of this band before, and only managed to catch the tail end of their set. So my opinion is informed only by the little I saw. From what I was able to check out, they rocked *hard*. Give them a listen on their official YT page @LINESOFLOYALTY.
Sevendust: You might think it’s heresy that I was not too familiar with Sevendust in the ATL (that’s Sevendust country!), but their set gained them a new fan: me! Hearing Lajon speak about his deep roots and emotional connection to Atlanta was a powerful moment. The band brought the house down with their slick production values and not a single person was seated or still during the entire set. Mad respect to these guys.
Static-X: Though I was indeed there to cover Dope, I have to say I was equally excited to see Static-X. I didn’t indulge in the spoilers or fan vids I knew were floating around about their show, and this was a sound decision in my opinion. Seeing it with fresh eyes without knowing what was going to happen next was thrilling. The tribute to Wayne Static (“Cold”) was made even sweeter by the revelation that Wayne’s mother and sister were in the house that night.
It might seem like this post is just a gushing mountain of praise, and you’d be correct to think that. Because… it is! But it’s well deserved. I’m not the type to blow smoke up someone’s ass and tell them something’s worth it when it isn’t. And this whole experience was 100% worth every bit I spent on it (And I’m talking airfare, hotels and Ubers as well, since I travelled to be there!) In all honesty, if I had the money and resources I would see this lineup twenty more times. If the tour is rolling through or near your town: go. You’ll have a fucking blast.
