There has been a change to my username on edseldopefan.org social media. We are now “heytocristina”. Read all about it right here.

The main reason for the change is to clearly distinguish my fansite’s social media presence from Edsel’s. By using my name, it makes it clear that you’re interacting with me (Cristina)-not Edsel or anyone affiliated with him. While I thought this was obvious (please see our disclaimer), the confusion has happened often enough that I felt it needed to be addressed.

This change was long overdue, but Facebook made it clear just how necessary it was. I was auto-flagged and placed in Facebook jail for “impersonation” after posting a reminder that my website is not an official source. Ironically, I was also explaining the name change to avoid this exact issue! My account was quickly reinstated after an appeal, but the incident underscored the importance of updating my social media usernames.

To be clear: My site should never be taken as an official source. The only official sources are dopetheband.com and their social media. I encourage you to go these sites, as your time is better spent there.

I apologize for any inconvenience, but I believe this change is the best step forward. My goal is to support Edsel without causing any confusion or distraction, so I acted quickly to resolve the situation.

Every so often, I like to remind people that I don’t bite and I’m always willing to take suggestions from fans!

We’re edseldopefanorg on Instagram and Tiktok! (Those are our only active socials. We are also edseldopefanorg on Facebook, but that’s just a mirror for my Instagram posts. If you see anyone else reaching out claiming to be me, it’s not.)

And honestly… please do contact me. I love hearing from you, and if you have any ideas, I’m happy to hear them! There are, however, some boundaries I won’t cross.

• No discussion about Edsel’s personal life: Guys, we aren’t that kind of site. If that’s the kind of content you want, I’d try Tumblr.
• No bringing up current/past drama: He’s a grown ass man. I don’t need to be out here running interference for him. He can take care of himself.
• Nothing based off rumours/speculation: Again, we’re really not that type of site.

I also take photo contributions! I don’t tend to use live photography unless the photographer grants me permission. If you have any photos of Edsel you’ve taken from live shows that you’d like to donate, please feel free to reach out! (Note: I will not accept candids. Or in other words, photos he didn’t know you were taking outside of live shows.)

Got a bit of an assorted update for you today. We’re righting a minor wrong and making our own Dope Essentials playlist, shining the spotlight on some updated pages on EDF.org and so much more! Let’s get right into it.

• Dope Essentials Playlist: What would a Dope Essentials playlist look like as curated by edseldopefan.org? We’ve answered that question right here and right now! Obviously, I got this idea from Apple Essentials so the concept isn’t unique. That being said, we’re putting together a Dope Essentials playlist for a reason: Apple Essentials doesn’t have one. And when Dope is overlooked, we’re here to correct that minor wrong! I have to say, our picks are pretty rad, so I do hope you give them a listen. If you’d like to see our suggested Essentials picks, you can view them right here on EDF.org’s Youtube. While you’re there: be sure to sub to @dopetheband on Youtube with notifications ON so you never miss a video. Our Essentials playlist is also featured on Edsel’s revamped biography page. • Edsel Biography Revamped: This has been on my to-do for awhile, and now I’m ready to share the revamped Edsel biography page. You can view it right here. Along with the Dope Essentials playlist, I’ve added a profile on Ecco Studios. Here at EDF.org, we do focus on Edsel’s entire career (not just his work with Dope). A lot of fans might not be aware of his work with Ecco Studios – but even if you are, I hope you enjoy reading this profile.

• Graphic Archive Updated: I’ve added gifs from Dope’s video for Hold On to the GIFs section. Since I don’t hate your internet connection, I do not place previews here on the updates page. Head on over directly with the link provided. GIFs are also bundled so that they display one at a time. Simply flip through and download whichever ones you fancy!

Just wanted to pop on to acknowledge edseldopefan.org is celebrating our ONE YEAR anniversary on May 4th! That’s right, this May 4th, we’ll have been bringing Edsel’s devoted fans only the best for a full year. All this and more in our Site Update!

Upcoming: edseldopefan.org One Year Anniversary!

• This May 4th, the Force is certainly with us as we celebrate EDF.org’s one year anniversary! Hard to believe we’ve been open a full year, seems like only yesterday I opened the site’s doors.
• When I opened this site, one of my goals was to make the kind of fansite I as a fan would want to visit. No BS, no nonsense. A respectful tribute that both promotes and supports Edsel while remaining positive and gossip free.
• Another was to give back (even in a small way) to a man who has inspired me so much. Edsel has been my creative muse for years. I can only hope to one day be as talented in my chosen fields. Thank you Edsel, for being such a positive force for good in my life.
• I’ve said it before, but it bears repeating. It really is my pleasure to bring Edsel and his fans only the best. Edsel has a very devoted fanbase, and if I’m not giving you everything I’ve got, I’m not doing my job very well.
• And I’d be remiss if I didn’t thank you: Dope’s loyal fans, Edsel admirers, Drama Club maniacs. This site is absolutely nothing without you.

I don’t want to go too much into the tribute side of things when it’s not even our anniversary yet. On May 4th, we’ll make the occasion properly. You know we celebrate big time here at edseldopefan.org, and this? This is no exception.

New(ish) Layout

• As any longtime visitor to this site knows, I’m a raging perfectionist. I always see room for improvement. As such, to mark our one year anniversary, please enjoy our new(ish) layout.
• The layout is a refresh of my original design. There were aspects of the old graphic that just didn’t please my picky eyes anymore. I hope you enjoy the re-do. It comes just in time to celebrate our anniversary!
• I’ve also added new info pieces to the sidebar. There’s now one that tracks the Evil Disco movie!
