Site Update: Unexpected Loss of Service

Just a quick update on something I briefly mentioned in my previous post: edseldopefan.org experienced unexpected loss of service earlier this week.

As soon as I became aware of the issue, I worked closely with our hosting provider, namecheap.com, to resolve it as quickly as possible. Thankfully, we were able to bring the site back online – but we had to restore it from a backup dated May 2025.

What We Lost

Unfortunately, restoring from a backup dated May 2025 meant losing some of the newer content on this domain:

  • A few recent posts on edseldopefan.org. Luckily, we didn’t lose files or gallery additions, so a couple of posts poofing isn’t a huge deal to me.

  • Fanlisting updates

  • Member entries from fanlistings

In short, I’ve had to rebuild the fanlistings and start over from scratch in terms of members. It’s a bit disheartening, but all things considered, it could have been much worse. The data loss wasn’t too bad, and we didn’t lose anything important or irreplaceable.

A Silver Lining?

Oddly enough, this might be a blessing in disguise. The gives me a chance for a fresh start – and sometimes that’s not such a bad thing.

Thanks for your patience, and as always, I appreciate the support. If you were previously listed in one of the fanlistings, please consider rejoining! I’ve had to move a few so please update your links:

Remembering: Wayne Static

remembering wayne static

On November 1, 2014, Wayne Static left us far too soon at the age of 48. His legacy and music continue to resonate long after his passing. Today, we remember Wayne and his incredible career.

Wayne was never one to follow trends; instead, he defined his own unique style that set the bar for others. His work with Static-X spanned six studio albums, producing iconic hits like “Cold,” “I’m With Stupid,” and “Push It.” Wayne’s final recordings with Static-X were released posthumously in Project Regeneration Vol. I and II. His solo outing, Pighammer, further cemented his status as the King of Evil Disco.

Did Wayne ever believe he’d become such an icon? The thought probably never crossed his mind. He dedicated himself to his craft and his fans, and it was evident in his electrifying performances and the passion he infused into his music. Wayne was one of a kind: there was never anyone like him before, and there never will be again. That his legacy endures attests to his everlasting impact on the industry, and on his grateful fans.

We loved you, Wayne, and we still do. You’ve never been forgotten. Thank you for the music, thank you for the memories, and most of all, thank you for taking us along on your journey.

Thank you.

Evil Disco The Movie Trailer Screencaps

Hello hello, and welcome to another update. Sorry for being MIA, I wasn’t feeling well the past few days. Today we’re jumping right into it with updates to EDF Photo (got to remind you about Evil Disco The Movie after all!).

Evil Disco The Movie

  • 23 photos have been added to the Evil Disco gallery on EDF Photo. Edsel isn’t shown too much in this trailer, but hey … this is a momentous movie, and he’s in it. We’re covering it, for sure.
  • Is this the first time you’ve heard about the movie Evil Disco? Let’s give you a quick recap of what we know. Evil Disco is billed as a chronicle of the rise, fall and regeneration of metal legends Static-X. Not only will we hear from the band in their own words, but a veritable who’s who of metal superstars. The trailer features Dino from Fear Factory, Lajon Witherspoon of Sevendust, Dave Navarro, and of course… Edsel Dope. That’s enough star power to make any metal fan excited to see this movie, in my opinion. There’s no release date as of yet, but we’re keeping our eyes peeled here.
  • I’ve provided the link above so you can go right to Static-X ‘s official Youtube channel to check out the trailer for yourself. Be sure to subscribe if you haven’t already so you never miss a video from the band!
  • Interested in my thoughts on this movie? I’ve given my initial reaction to the trailer right here. I’m still really excited to see this movie. As a longtime Static-X fan, I’ve always hoped there would one day be a documentary where they get to tell their story themselves. Edsel featuring in the movie is just a bonus!

What do YOU think? Are you excited for the movie Evil Disco? Will you be seeing it when it comes out?
